About Me

I was raised on a mix of burbs and farm life just outside of New Orleans. I didn’t realize back then how unique my childhood was; not everyone has cows, chickens and horses roaming their yard in the middle of a suburban setting, but to me it was just home. Over the years, life brought me to Dallas where I had a lot of fun as a single 30 something living the urban life. Most recently, I’ve come full circle and find myself back in the suburbs; instead of high-rises, I yearn for land and open spaces.

Along the way I’ve acquired a small pack of rescue pups, a cranky old Shih Tzu, two adorable girls and a very patient man (he lets me wander off for photography seminars and shoots on a frequent basis with very minimal complaining).

Current Obsessions:

  • Diet Cherry Limeades from Sonic ,
  • Rewatching every Dateline episode for the 3rd time,
  • Purging closets without my family realizing I've thrown their stuff away,
  • Cauliflower cleverly disguised as pizza and pasta!

What makes me different?

I’m also a lawyer, but don’t let that scare you! I think a lot of attorneys become photographers, at least they do if they are lucky! I was always told by my clients that I didn’t seem like a lawyer, which is probably why I still keep in touch with so many of them! (Did you know that most people don’t like lawyers??) I think my legal training holds me apart from the other photographers you may meet because it’s trained my brain to see things differently. A left-brained photographer is something of a unicorn I hear.

Why me?

All around my home you’ll find photos of family and friends, mostly taken by photographers other than myself. One thing that all of the photos have in common is the connection I had with the photographer taking them. Over the years I've had no shortage of portraits taken, but as the years went on I started to notice the ones that made it to the wall were by those special photographers that took the time to get to know me as a person.

It is important to me that I take the time to get to know those I work with because that is how you capture the perfect portrait. I always hate how I look in pictures, and I understand how a good portrait is something to be treasured. That’s the type of photographer I strive to be and that’s the photographer I want to be for you.

Special thank you to GoldenLight Creative for capturing these photos of me. Your photos are proudly displayed on the walls of my home and here on my website.
